S. Houston's book review persuaded me to read new moon. I agreed with her review because the author did a good job of keeping the reader's intrigued and informed. Her review did a good job of enticing me to read New Moon because of the plot overview of the story. I liked this book because it kept my interest, as well as it was easy to read and understand the story.

What a wonderful book to read; girls if you like an interesting book, page turning book, then this is the book to read. I wouldn't recommend boys to read the book, but if you like a sad, love telling book then boys you will enjoy.

After viewing the film Twilight I decided to read for myself the sequel to the novel Twilight, New Moon. New Moon begins with an extravagant 18th birthday party that the main character's vampire boyfriend Edward Cullen throws for his love Bella Swan. A conflict first arises when Bella gets a paper cut at her party and Edward's brother Jasper furiously attacks Bella due to the scent of blood. Edward and his family are forced to leave Forks Washington in an attempt to keep Bella safe from vampires. Bella goes through emotional turmoil and becomes depressed that her true love has left. To find comfort, Bella develops a close relationship with a family friend Jacob Black. After finding that dangerous situations brings her back memories of Edward Bella finds herself craving more and more danger. Bella attempts cliff diving and is caught in a riptide that almost kills her, but is saved by Jacob. Alice Cullen, Edwards sister has a premonition that Bella dies as she dives off the cliff. Edward is however mistakenly informed that Bella is dead by his other sister Rosalie. Will Alice inform Edward that Bella is not dead before he too does something dangerous? Or will the furious Victoria whose brother was killed by the Cullen's interfere? Will Bella and Edward ever be reunited?
Bella is the main character and is the protagonist. Bella's love for Edward is what creates the conflicts that arise in the story. He is a vampire but she is a human. Contrasting lives that are like oil and water and can never mix. Edward's family also plays a role of creating tension. They are aware of Bella's knowledge of them being vampires and they often get her into dangerous situations. The importance of the setting is extremely important as it sets up the mood and tone of the story. To help with the mysterious and dark mood that surrounds vampires it is set in Forks, Washington. This is a constantly rainy town that is surrounded by forests. I was very surprised by the author's imagery she used to draw out each and every part of the book creating a vivid picture in the reader's mind. It was also very easy to read and found it hard to set the book down once I started to read.

This science thriller starts off the book with an intense discovery, of dozens of skeletons that were found in a tunnel at a construction site. The construction manager is eager to move the bodies so his site isn’t closed down. However, before all the bodies are moved and the evidence is destroyed, the main character, FBI Agent Pendergast enters the scene to investigate. He hires an archeologist to work with him and they discover some bizarre elements to the case. The bodies were the victims of a serial killer in the late 1800’s.
Now you are wondering how this case could be solved if it happened so long ago. But, unexpectedly murders of the same manner begin to happen in New York City. The victims were killed and tested on just like the victims from the past. Is this the same guy from the past? How is he going to be caught? He must be caught before more innocent people are killed.
Agent Pendergast is the Sherlock Holmes of today, but he has an edge to him that is not like Holmes. He is able to meditate, which allows him free his mind and focus on the case.
The mood that is created is serious and suspenseful. Agent Pedergast takes every piece of evidence and analyzes it to the tiniest detail.
This book is full excitement, thrill, and entertainment. I recommend it and hope you enjoy reading it.

The most powerful part of the story is told through Chris' words. In the final chapters, aware his death is inevitable; McCandless seems to make peace with himself. Chris proved that every person needs to find out who they really are and what their purpose is on the face of the earth.
FOLLOW UP:
I chose to read this book because it was recommended by B.Cech. The way he made it sound made it really stick out at me because i love the outdoors and its amazing that this kid would just give up all of his material possesions to just go out and explore. I would never just give up everything though so there must have been some serious motive behind his decision but we will never know what he truly set out to accomplish.

Apocalypse is a story/myth that has been around for decades about a group of people by the name of Myans who had the theory that the world would end as it is today and a new form of life would begin. The Myans have several theories on how this event will occur but the most well known is that a thinning electromagnetic field around the earth and giant solar flares will be the end result of this Apocalypse. There are also believes about a code written in the bible that explains how the earth will end in the year 2012. This book was not meant to scare but inform people about what the Apocalypse is, facts about it and factual evidence that this event will occur in the near future. Joseph reveals through evidence and facts how important and significant the number 2012 is and what is capable of happening in this year. The author portrays his knowledge,interest and excitement through his writing style and choice of words. The author is not trying to persuade the reader to believe the way he does, he just wants the reader to rethink what they know and don't know about the future. This book is an easy read with the excitement making it hard to put down.
I choose to read this book because I have heard alot about the year 2012 and the apocalypse, but never really new what was actually known about it and how credible the facts and beliefs were. All of my questions were answered somewhere throughout the book and i learned alot about what is said to happen in the year 2012. I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to be filled in on what is said to happen only 3 years from now.

Twilight is about a teenage girl who is in highschool named Bella. Her parents are divoriced and her mother lives in Phoenix and her father lived in Forks. Although Bella hated Forks she decided that she wanted to go live with her father for a while. Bella was the talk of the small town and everyone wanted to meet her. The first time she laid eyes on Edward she knew there was something off about him. He was absoloutly perfect and she could not take her eyes off of him. The one thing that did turn her off was how mean he was to her. He would not say one word to her and acted as if she was some kind of disease and could not be around her. He raced away from her everytime he was near her and she did not know what was wrong with her because she had not said anything or done anything to make him not like her. Soon enough she finds out what the problem really is. The problem is that he is a vampire and can not take her scent because it makes him go crazy. She handles this well but still proceeds to go after him in an attempt to make things work.
Stephenie Meyer the author of Twilight was born in Hartford Connecticut. The book came to her in a dream on June 2 2003 which was about a human girl and a vampire who were in love. Meyer focuses her romantic vampire series to young teenage girls. She keeps her readers interested in the story and wanting to keep reading the rest of the series. She leaves a cliffhanger at the end of each book that makes you have to read more because you dont know what will happen until you read it.

He believes that it is best for her for them to be apart and for Bella to find a human to fall in love with. However, Bella doesn’t want anyone but Edward and she’ll never forget him like he hopes. When Edward hears that Bella is dead, which she really isn’t, he decides his life is not worth living and gets himself into great danger. Bella and Alice, Edwards’s psychic vampire sister, have to go save Edward before it’s too late. But, when they arrive they find themselves in great danger along with Edward. Was risking their own lives to save Edward worth it? Will Edward, Alice and Bella make it home alive or will they be defeated by the vicious vampires?
The setting is in Forks, Washington and it is essential to the events that take place in New Moon. Forks is rarely ever sunny and mainly covered by forests. The lack of sunlight allows the vampires to roam freely without suspicion and forests supply them with a place to battle and hunt. The setting builds suspense between the characters and throughout the entire story.
The author uses a tremendous amount of imagery to make the scenes come to life; it feels more like you’re watching the movie than reading a book. Her writing flows very well together, making it an easy to read, fast pace book. The dialogue creates the deep and intimate relationships between the characters making them more realistic to the reader.

Have you ever wondered what Heaven, looks like, sounds like, even smells like? Do you want to know how to cope with pain and suffering in a positive way? In Don Piper's true story, 90 Minutes in Heaven you can find the answers to both of these questions. Piper tells us the true story of his 90 minute experience in Heaven. He starts off by telling the reader of how he was killed instantly when his car was hit by a semi truck. A man stopped near the scene begins to pray for Piper during these 90 minutes of his death. Piper then goes into talking about his time Heaven. This part is filled with imagery that will blow your mind. "My most vivid meory oh heaven is the sound. I can only describe it as a Holy Swoosh of Wings". Finally, Piper strikes another powerful blow of inspiration as he describes how he dealt with the pain of recovery as well as how we can deal with it. This book strikes a deep punch of inspiration and a feeling I can'e even describe into the hearts of its readers. Any person of any religion can get a positve message out of this book and thats why I reccomend this book for everyone.

90 Minutes in Heaven was recommended to me by D. Strimple. His description of the book persuaded me to read it and it did not disappoint. I agree whole heartedly with Strimple that this book is one of the greatest of our time and that it can strike inspiration into all of us in some way!
