“I felt like I was trapped in one of those terrifying nightmares, the one where you have to run, run till your lungs burst, but you can’t make your body move fast enough” (Meyer 1). Bella, the main character, faces some unimaginable pain when her vampire boyfriend Edward, decides to leave town. He believes that it is best for her for them to be apart and for Bella to find a human to fall in love with. However, Bella doesn’t want anyone but Edward and she’ll never forget him like he hopes. When Edward hears that Bella is dead, which she really isn’t, he decides his life is not worth living and gets himself into great danger. Bella and Alice, Edwards’s psychic vampire sister, have to go save Edward before it’s too late. But, when they arrive they find themselves in great danger along with Edward. Was risking their own lives to save Edward worth it? Will Edward, Alice and Bella make it home alive or will they be defeated by the vicious vampires?
The setting is in Forks, Washington and it is essential to the events that take place in New Moon. Forks is rarely ever sunny and mainly covered by forests. The lack of sunlight allows the vampires to roam freely without suspicion and forests supply them with a place to battle and hunt. The setting builds suspense between the characters and throughout the entire story.
The author uses a tremendous amount of imagery to make the scenes come to life; it feels more like you’re watching the movie than reading a book. Her writing flows very well together, making it an easy to read, fast pace book. The dialogue creates the deep and intimate relationships between the characters making them more realistic to the reader.

I chose to read New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. S. Houston’s book review persuaded me to read it. I agree with her review because I think it explained the most important parts of New Moon and was intriguing. Her review on the author and setting were very true and well written. I loved the book because it was very fast paced and it was a page turner. I think I finished it in one weekend because I couldn’t put it down!

90 Minutes in heaven is story of Don Piper’s journey to beyond, and back. Don Pipers, a Baptist minister was killed instantly; by a semi truck traveling over one hundred mph. Don was killed instantly, but miraculously came back to life. 90 minutes in heaven gives a detailed description, with Don’s encounter with death. The Book begins with the story of his car accident, and then transitions into the time of his death. Don talks about the things that he had seen, and portrays a picture of beautiful proportions. The End of the book is saved for the story of Don’s recovery, and how he dealt with the constant pain of his crushed body.
This is one of my favorite books I have ever read. From the moment you pick it up, you know that it is an instant classic. As I read on, I found it harder to put the book down. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
